Overwatch World Cup 2017: South Korea defeats Canada in Grand Finals
According to the results of Overwatch World Cup 2017, South Korea is the strongest country in the competitive Overwatch at the moment – in the grand finals South Korea defeated Canada with the 4-1 score.
Eight nations were represented in the playoffs of the Overwatch World Cup: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden, France, China, South Korea and Australia. The teams played with each other in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-five matches, with the grand finals being best-of-seven. In the grand final Canada played versus South Korea – the Canadian team managed to win only the 4th map (Junkertown), losing the other four and giving up the series with the 4-1 score. In the match for the third place Sweden outplayed France (4-2).
The finals of Overwatch World Cup were held during BlizzCon on November 3-4. The total prize pool of the tournament was set at $360,000 – each player received $1,500 for taking part in each stage of the tournament.
