New details on Perfect World’s Dota 2 Minor
The 2017/2018 competitive season in Dota 2 is on the rise. Today we got additional information about yet another minor tournament, which is going to be held on November 19-26 in Shanghai, China.
The tournament called The Perfect World Masters will feature 10 teams, who will compete for a $300,000 prize pool – a standard amount for Dota 2 minors this season. Direct invites from the organizers will be given to 3 teams (to be announced), while other 7 teams will take part in the regional qualifiers in 6 regions: China, Southeast Asia, Europe, CIS, North America, South America. While the Chinese qualifier decides 2 spots in LAN-event, only one team will be able to make it through any other regional qualifier.
Perfect World Masters is the third minor-tournament of the season, after StarLadder i-League Invitational #3 (November 12-15, Kiev, Ukraine) and PGL Open Bucharest (November 19-22, Bucharest, Romania). The tournament is organized by Chinese company Perfect World, which operates Dota 2 in China and is infamous for the failure of Shanghai Major in 2016. This season they organize three events: two minors and one major tournament, so it looks like Valve decided to give the company a second chance.
