New CS:GO Update: reduced aimpunch and pistols banalce
Valve released a new update for the beta-client with some changes to aimpunch and balancing of pistols.
Aimpunch
Aimpunch is a game mechanic which causes a lot of controversy in the scene. Basically, when your character is hit by a bullet in a body part or in the head your screen will flinch for a very short period of time making it almost impossible to control recoil. Having an armor will prevent this from happening. Despite the controversy, Valve is keeping the mechanic, but decided to tune it a little. According to the beta patch notes, the unarmored aimpunch was significantly reduced.
Pistols
Pistols in CS:GO have had balance issues for a long time, so Valve keep changing them one by one. This time they tried to balance two pistols: Glock got buffed and P250 was significantly reworked.
Extract from the patch notes:
“Glock: Slight adjustments favoring accurate players who close the distance to their opponent.
- Increased base damage
- Reduced damage at longer distances
- Slightly improved accuracy while firing rapidly
- Slightly improved accuracy while moving
P250: The P250 has been adjusted to reward longer-distance engagements, particularly against unarmored opponents.
- Increased base damage
- Reduced armor penetration
- Improved damage at longer distances
- Reduced accuracy while moving"
Note: this update is currently available only for the beta-client of the game. To be able to take part in the beta-testing, you need to enable the proper beta-version in Steam’s settings of CS:GO.
